Our Service:  

The Pohlsee Stud was the first private insemination station in Schleswig-Holstein. We have got an EU-licence in 1996. We are happy to help you, if you need information or advice concerning breeding.

Our in-house lab provides the following services:

  • production of frozen semen according to individual orders incl. veterinary and laboratory tests;
  • appropriate storage of frozen semen, semen can be shipped;
  • marketing of semen;
  • moreover we always offer frozen semen from interesting successful sport stallions;
  • New! since the 1st of January 2010 we host an Embryo-Transfer- Station for retrieval and transfer  of embryos. More information (in German): www.vetart.de

Insemination

The insemination conditions of the Holsteiner Verband applies for our stud. They are posted at the station. The breeding season begins on February 1st and ends on August 31st. Any costs related to the insemination at our Stud will be charged by the respective veterinarian.

 

 

Terms and Conditions

Orders for the shipment of semen must be placed by 10:00 a.m. of the shipment/collecting day. When ordering semen, the following information must be provided: name of the desired stallion, name and complete address of the mare owner as well as the veterinarian or inseminator, address to which the semen is to be sent, information on the mare (name, pedigree and birth number).

If a stallion is not available for a short time for fresh semen because of shows, we use frozen semen. Please ask for detail information on station.

Payment of the stud fee in advance is required for the shipment of semen.

The charge for shipping semen will be invoiced separately and is to be paid by the breeder.
