The Pohlsee Stud is located amidst the nature reserve “Westensee”, some 20 km south of Kiel. This horse farm has been in the ownership of the Böning family since thirty years. They have a long tradition of horse breeding, rearing, and keeping stallions. Originally residently in Oldenburg they have been very successful at breeding shows, approvals and exhibitions for more than 150 years.

About 60 hectares of grassland used as extensive pastures and meadows belongs to the stud. Furthermore the farm provides enough space to grow straw and hay for all of its horses.
